At the beginning of the lease:

Once the lease has been signed and all amounts due are paid, we will inspect the house together. We'll see together whether the property is delivered to you as agreed.

We will contact you to make an appointment. Inspections will only be scheduled on weekdays between 9.00 and 17.00.

During the inspection we note defects, comments and issues which the landlord may still need to resolve. In addition, we take the meter readings and we make sure that you are connected to an energy supplier. You then receive a copy of the survey by mail.

You receive the key of the house at the end of the inspection, if all amounts due are paid !

During the lease:

We may periodically contact you to inspect the house. The landlord wants and needs to keep the house in good repair. We will check the state of maintenance and we also check whether the house is used as agreed.

First and final inspections

After reception of your written notice we will contact you for a possible preliminary and certain final inspection.

Preliminary Inspection

We will contact you to make an appointment, if we think a preliminary inspection is necessary. Inspections will only be scheduled on weekdays between 9.00 and 17.00.

During the inspection are discussed things like:

  • Holes in the walls and ceilings shut
  • Remove nails and screws
  • replace or upgrade things broken or missing
  • Repaint walls in neutral colors if agreed

The property must be left in good condition. If you want to offer things to a subsequent tenant to take over, we ask you to mention this in your letter of cancellation, stating the requested purchase price per item.

Final Inspection

During the final inspection we check the agreements made. If there is damage during the move, we will charge you the cost of recovery/repair or replacement. We note the meter readings and take back all sets of keys. It is not allowed to issue keys to third parties, neither to the next tenant.

You then get an copy of the inspection form, by e-mail, on which the readings are recorded.

Tips

  • Check the meter readings on your final bill from your energy supplier
  • Relocate or end your connection for telephone, Internet and TV
  • De-list from the Municipal Department of population
  • Use the Post NL moving service
